B51dbb786749b4a35ec82755f3cf270a 1993 年 4 月 30 日是個特殊的日子，正是這一天 CERN(歐洲核子研究組織) 成員 Robert Cailliau 和 Tim Berners-Lee 爵士一起推動 CERN 將網路技術發佈至公有領域。

也正是他們兩人所在的研究小組，利用 CERN 的大型強子對撞機技術，使得網際網路技術普及至所有人，並且完全免費。

為了紀念這一歷史性的時刻，CERN 開啟了一個全新的項目，旨在讓人們一睹第一批網頁的真容，同時還還原了網頁對應的、最原始的 URL 鏈結。除了還原網站，CERN 也想透過這個項目，挖掘和維護 Web 最早期的數字資產 (digital asscets)，方便未來人類瞭解 Web 最初的歷史。（VIA: theverge.com）
