摘要：飛機如果完全不用燃料，可以飛多遠呢？一架名為陽光動力號的太陽能飛機，3號就從加州出發，準備要挑戰橫跨美國之旅。目標就是一滴油都不加。這架全太陽能的陽光動力號，重量僅相當於一台小型汽車，卻擁有和波音747客機一樣長的機翼，上面裝載的，全是太陽能電池，能夠在飛行時一邊提供動力，一邊蓄電。這趟橫跨美國之旅，中途將會在達拉斯、聖路易以及華盛頓短暫停留，預計兩個月後抵達終點，紐約的甘迺迪國際機場。
